The story of the bible is about God's plan to rescue His world. How can a story about an immigrant, enslaved people group provide hope for us today? From the pandemic, global warming, border policing, hunger, war, gun violence, income inequality, police brutality and suffering among so many people-where is our answer? Is there hope?
What does salt have to do with any of this? Salt is a preservative. It brings out the flavor and prevents rotting of food.
Jesus Christ, in one of His many speeches, challenged people to behave like salt in the world. To bring out the best in His world. To see suffering, to be moved by hurting people and to do something about it. Be salt. Bring about something good and prevent further rotting of our friendships, families and communities. Join us as we learn this story together. Our goal is very simple: to learn how to be salt in a decaying world.
We honor the legacy of women who suffered untold stories of struggle. Some who lived to see the light and some who did not. It's Grace and Ann, two women who never met, yet who's legacy lives on, both providing the lens by which we see suffering up close. We choose to see the world thru the lens of suffering people. It's by this that we stay human.
